Balance, pushing, and basic tricks
Gilda
DanLearning to balance and roll is super fun and gives you a cool way to get around or just hang out with friends.
You could be showing off sick tricks at a skate park near the Olympic village, or even designing new skate parks for everyone to enjoy.
Optional materials for this quest.
Complete Beginner Skateboard
RequiredA pre-assembled complete board is the right starting point — quality trucks, wheels, and bearings are already matched so you can focus on learning instead of setup. Look for 7.75" to 8.0" deck width for most beginners.
Skate Helmet and Pads Set
RequiredA certified skate helmet plus knee and wrist pads lets you practice falls confidently. Wrist guards alone prevent the most common skateboarding injuries for new learners.
Skate Shoes
Flat-soled shoes with minimal padding (like Vans or similar) give you the board feel that regular sneakers with thick soles hide. The flat bottom helps you feel how weight is distributed across the deck.
